Review of Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat
Unity, teamwork, endurance, determination, courage and logical reasoning are ingredients needed to succeed. These listed virtues are what R. F. Kristi teaches children in Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat.
Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat is the seventh book in the Inca Detective Series. It features the Siberian kitty, Inca. Inca is the head of Inca and Company, a detective agency that has solved many mysteries. This time, she is in Sri Lanka in the company of her mates and their human companion, Mom. The primary purpose is to enjoy their holiday and relax from the hustle and bustle of London. They make friends with some turtles and a baby elephant, Meena and her mama. But then, their relaxation is cut short. An ancient sword mysteriously goes missing from Colombo's main museum. Inca and her company must save the sword before getting out of the city. What fate lies before them on this quest? Find out in this awesome book.
This book is a work of fiction centred around Inca and her mates. It was written like a diary from Inca's point of view. This is the first lesson the book teaches; to cultivate the habit of keeping a diary or a journal. Inca is pretty good at writing her daily impressions in her diary. The scenes are vividly described with a lot of depth. This enables the readers to understand each scene as they read. The pictures make the book colourful and attractive for the age bracket it is meant for—even an adult will be attracted.
Children will learn many things from the book. They will learn about the colourful beach of Sri Lanka, the bridge and many other historical facts that surround the country. The book also teaches kids important lessons about life, such as cooperation and teamwork. It also emphasises the power of critical thinking in solving real-life problems. These skills will follow them throughout their lives and push them to succeed.
I enjoyed everything in this book, especially the personality of Inca. She is amazingly witty, dedicated and full of self-confidence. I do not find any errors, so I will rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.
I recommend this book to children between the ages of 5 and 9. I also recommend it to readers who enjoy animal-themed books.
