Toni is a little boy with superhero abilities. Toni the Superhero is a quick read of 30 pages that lists things Toni likes to do on his days off as a superhero. R.D. Base is the author of this children's book that will entertain and inform its young readers of who Toni is.

I am glad I was able to read the first book in the Toni the Superhero series. The author introduces Toni as a superhero, then delves into a list of things he likes to do, like drawing, playing with friends, singing, swimming, etc. He also enjoys helping his mother out around the house; I think this is a positive message for children to see someone like Toni who gets ecstatic by helping others.

The representation of Toni as a young African-American superhero is groundbreaking to see. I loved this aspect of the book the most because I never saw a young black superhero in the books I read growing up, so to see Toni as a lead character is refreshing.

Toni the Superhero is a book parents can read to their young kids as a bedtime story. As I stated before, this book is quick with short sentences, so I will recommend kids ages 2 to 4 who are learning to read to get this book. Kids will not get bored with this story because the illustrations by Debbie Hefke are lively and colorful.

I had a wonderful reading this children’s book. The combination of a great story and beautiful illustrations makes an enjoyable children’s book, and this one does just that. I did not find any spelling or grammar errors; this book is exceptionally well-edited. I did not find anything I disliked about this book. I’m more than happy to give Toni the Superhero 4 out of 4 stars.

My children can't get enough of "Toni the Superhero"! It's a heartwarming story that encourages kids to be kind and brave, with illustrations that truly bring the story to life.
