Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula by R.F. Kristi is an entertaining fictional story for children. Inca, a Siberian cat, is the head of a cat detective agency. Fromage and Cara, Inca's siblings, are also members of the agency. Two dogs, Terrence and Polo, are members of this agency. Charlotte is the only hamster in the group. The human owner of Inca and her siblings is named Missy. She has been invited to be a judge in a French patisserie competition that will take place in South Korea.

Mimsy travels to South Korea with her neighbour Solo. Both of them bring their pets along. Mimsy intends to use this opportunity to advertise her delicious cheese. Mimsy meets a French chef, Enzo, who is invited to the competition as well. Enzo is jealous of Mimsy and has a sinister plan up his sleeves. In South Korea, Mimsy and her associates meet with their tour guide named Ye-Jun. The tour guide treats them nicely. Inca discovers that Ye-Jun is estranged from his sister and her pet.

I am delighted with the illustrations in this book. The illustrations are drawn with skill. I appreciate the drawings because they enliven the story. Children will love such illustrations. Jorge Valle deserves a round of applause for the beautiful illustrations.

I am thrilled by the cultural diversity that is expressed in this story. Kristi expresses the French and Korean cultures in this book. Children will easily learn about both cultures while they are being entertained. As I read Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula, it occurred to me that the text is exceptionally edited. I did not notice any errors in the text. I like the organisation of the book. The sections are organised to appear like diary entries. I find this form of organization to be unique and interesting.

Children will find this book to be entertaining, educative, and satisfying. There is nothing in this book that I can criticise. Hence, I rate it 4 out of 4 stars. Children that are between the ages of 8 years old to 12 years old will enjoy this text. Adults that love stories about animals will be entertained by this text.
