If you've read books in The Inca Cat Detective Series, you probably know how the Inca Detective Agency works. Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula by R.F. Kristi is the eighth book in this series. However, it is vital to note that you can read it as a standalone. Like the other books in the series, this one tells the exciting and captivating escapades of Inca and her team.

The story commences with Inca's human mom, Missy, getting the opportunity to participate in a cooking competition in South Korea as a judge. She tags her family along, and off they go on the long journey to South Korea. The drama starts right at the airport, and the team has to swing into action. This event at the airport is just the beginning of a series of heroics, plans, and activities in which the group participates. Their host in South Korea also faces some border issues with North Korea. You should find out the problem and how the team dealt with it.

I've never been as engrossed and interested in a children's book as I was with this one. The author did a perfect job in the plot development of this story. The story is built up in a suspenseful, exciting, and intriguing manner that even adults can enjoy. The events are also organized chronologically and titled in good order. In addition, the characters are pretty lovable and relatable. I loved that the author tried to relate them to the animals they represent in reality. Terrence, for instance, was brave, caring, and protective, traits one would expect from dogs.

The illustrations in the book were excellent. They were colorful, relevant, and relatable. The cover page shows that the book is appealing and attractive for kids. The language the author used was also simple and easy to comprehend. The book was exceptionally well-edited, as I did not encounter any errors. There was nothing I disliked about this fantastic book.

I, therefore, give it a perfect rating of four out of four stars. It is well-written and perfectly delivered. I'd recommend it to children between six and ten years old. It can perfectly entertain them while massively improving their imagination.
