Review of Did you know
One thing that has impacted my life significantly is the type of books I read as a child. I also wanted to be a great man after reading or hearing about the heroics of our forefathers who laid the foundation of science. Science has gone a long way in impacting man's lives. Did you know by Ashok Bhaskaran is a children's book with a lot to learn from.
There was a life before the advancement of technology. Have you ever wondered how people talked to their loved ones before the creation of the telephone? How did people live without electricity? Sometimes I reflect on how hard life would have been without technology. Those who brought this advancement to us should be praised. Even though it wasn't as easy as it looks now, their persistent nature gave us the life we have today. Some people were even ridiculed, but they only took this as inspiration, and today we have a life where we can communicate with people or do whatever we like without going through much stress.
I love how the author wrote the story from a child's point of view. Jason, the narrator of the story, was only nine years old. From my experience, I can tell you that reading books like this as a child makes you productive as an adult. You don't only learn about technology from this book; the book also teaches its readers the power of not giving up. The book was brief, but it contained information that would place any child ahead of their peers.
There was nothing there for me to dislike in this book. I flowed easily while reading it. My cousin enjoyed the book the same way I did. Though I knew about all these, reading now has challenged me to try and do something that will benefit the world. I just hope that humans stop using this amazing invention as an excuse to pollute the environment. The book had a simple vocabulary. It is the perfect example of a good children's book.
I don't think I'd rate it less than 4 out of 4 stars. The book is a perfect read for children and anyone who enjoys children's books. It was void of errors, showing it was exceptionally well-edited.
