In this book named Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula, R.F. Kristi creates a beautiful story that will enthral children. The audience is introduced to Inca & Company, a detective agency. This agency is headed by Inca, a Siberian cat. Her siblings, Fromage and Cara, are members of the agency. Other members are Charlotte, Polo, Monk, and Terrance.

Inca's humanoid owner, Missy, is invited to be a judge in a cooking competition that will be held in Korea. As well, Missy is offered an opportunity to showcase her new cheese recipe in Seoul. She travels with Inca and Company. On the flight to Korea, Missy meets a sly chef named Enzo. Suddenly her special cheese is purloined. Who stole the cheese? What can Inca & Company do about the situation? In Korea, their tour guide, Ye-Jun has a sister, Ji, who is trapped in North Korea. Can Inca & Company rescue Ji and unite her with her brother?

R.F. Kristi has done a marvellous job in this book. I am pleased because the text contains historical facts which will educate children. For example, the author discusses the creation of the demilitarized zone in Korea. Another wonderful feature of this story is the images contained in the book. The illustrations were drawn by Jorge Valle. The drawings were colourful, fun, impeccable, and graphic.

I am glad that this book teaches children the value of teamwork. Inca & Company are able to work together to achieve their aims and objectives. The story is told from Inca's perspective. Readers are given the opportunity to view the world from a cat's perspective. It was an interesting perspective, and I am pleased with it.

This book is an excellent read. However, I noticed a flaw. R.F. Kristi uses words that might be difficult for children to comprehend. This flaw will not stop children from enjoying this book. Therefore, I rate Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula 4 out of 4 stars.

The text is exceptionally edited. There are no errors in it. Children that are between the ages of 6 years old to 12 years old will love this book. Adults that are fond of animal stories should read this story.
