Review of Donny and Mary Grace's California Adventure
Donny and Mary Grace's California Adventure by Catherine A. Pepe is a wonderful book that delves into the life and ordeals of Donny. Donny is a bright, optimistic, happy, and talented boy with disabilities. The book contains 133 pages, and it is divided into seventeen chapters. The book starts with the author's note that talks about Donny's birth. The first chapter of this book talks about what happened at Sedgwick County Zoo in Wichita, Kansas. After his parents rejected the offer of sending him away to a special home that takes care of children like him, they decided to help him grow like a normal human being. His elder sister, Mary Grace, was always available to give him all the required help and support. The second chapter of this book talks about their second visit to the zoo. It also talks about Mary and Donny's preparation for the resumption of school activities. At some point, Donny's parents had to go to Africa because of an official assignment, and they sent their children to California to stay with their grandparents. When they arrived in California, she learned about the grandma's gang, and it made her happy. The book goes on to talk about their new school. Donny's experience was not quite intriguing, and it was during this time that his sister received an anonymous note from someone. What is in the note? Will Donny be affected by the contents of the anonymous note?
Donny and Mary Grace's California Adventure by Catherine A. Pepe is a fascinating book that was written with a third-person narrative. The author did a good job of using understandable words to describe the characters' actions, emotions, and environments. The book has a table of contents, and I love the cover of the book. I think this book is character-driven.
Every living human deserves love and respect. I learned about friendship, love, and respect. I also learned that it is necessary to treat people kindly irrespective of their physical or mental nature. Catherine did a good job of explaining the importance of family. Family helps the mind of its members through the love that is constantly expressed through actions and words.
I enjoyed reading this book. However, I did not notice any negative aspects while reading this book. I learned a lot of lessons, and I admire Donny's optimistic personality.
This book was well written. In my opinion, this book was exceptionally edited. I did not notice any grammatical or spelling errors while reading this book.
Humanity is divided into multiple sections, and it is necessary to know that the things we encounter help us to know about the different sections of humanity. However, I recommend this book specifically for young kids, but I believe that adults can also learn a few lessons from this book. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars due to the few points mentioned above and because of its intriguing storyline.
