The Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula by R.F. Kristi is a wonderful children's story that tells about a group of cat detectives, Inca and Company, who have solved different cases. Missy, Inca's mother, is a chef, and she has been chosen as a judge in the French Patisserie competition organized by "Le Cordon bleu," which is a reputable cookery school. Missy decides to use that medium to present her cheese, which she names "la crème, de la crème". She decides to take the kitties along with her. On the plane on their way to South Korea, where the competition is to take place. They meet Enzo, one of the judges too, and Enzo tries to steal Missy's cheese, but Inca and his friends catch him. They get to South Korea, and they meet Ye-jun, the tour guide who has been assigned to them. Ye-jun takes them to his house, where they meet Baram, Ye-jun's dog. Fromage follows mom to go display her cheese and helps destroy Enca's plan to ruin Missy's cheese. Ye-jun's sister, Ji, and Bo-Mi, their cat, have been separated from Ye-jun and Baram because of the border between South Korea and North Korea. Inca and Company helped reunite them again after the competition.

This book is wonderful, and I loved all aspects of it. The writing style is very intriguing, which got me glued to the book until I was done. It is written in the first-person narrative and this brought the book to life. I love the inclusion of colored pictures. This both illuminates the book and shows that it is a children's book. The language used is a simple one, so even the children can understand it. I couldn't have asked for a simpler one.

I admired the love shared between Inca and their friends. They were always ready to help. Upon meeting Ye-jun and Baram in South Korea, they were eager to help reunite them with Ji and Bo-Mi. I admire this because it will teach the children how to always be there for friends and loved ones.

There is utterly nothing I disliked about the book; everything was in place and seemed flawless. I can say the book is exceptionally well edited because I didn't come across any grammatical or typographical errors. That being said, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.

I recommend this book to all children out there; it is very interesting and educational as well. Parents can get the book for their children.

I also enjoyed the theme of friendship and supporting others in their time of need. Great review.
