Cat Detective in the Korean Peninsula by R. F. Kristi is the eighth book in The Inca Cat Detective Series. It is an adventure-filled juvenile fiction book. It's about Inca, a cat detective, and her team who travels to the Korean Peninsula for an exciting adventure with their human companion. Although it's a series book, it can be read as a standalone novel.

Inca, a cat detective, and her team accompany their human companion (owner) to a food competition in South Korea. They became friends with a dog and his owner, Ye-Jun, who is mum's tour guide. He invites them to stay at his house instead of a hotel. In the process, the animals bonded, and they discover that Ye-Jun is separated from his sister, who lives in North Korea with her cat, and she's been unable to return to South Korea. The group of animal friends gangs up and plan how they will reunite Ye-Jun and his sister. Will this group of animals be able to reunite a brother with his sister? Read this thrilling novel to find out.

I observed the fancy font style used in the book. It's a short novel with fancy pictures of the characters for better illustration. The author portrays Inca as a proud little cat that believes in herself and pushes herself to take adventurous actions. Also, I appreciate the cultural knowledge shared in the book. The team's journey to South Korea gives me insights into the culture and customs of the South Koreans and the DMZ.

I liked that the writer portrayed Inca and her team as courageous, brave, and resilient animals. These are traits that should be nurtured and encouraged in young children. I also like that the writer elaborates on peace, friendship, and cultural diversity. In addition, I like that the writer's flow of writing is with ease and in a format that makes reading for younger readers easy and enjoyable. The beautiful illustrations in the book will help young children understand the story better.

However, I feel like the number of characters used in the story is too much. It would have been more effective with fewer characters. Also, I believe the writer should have provided the readers with a glossary since some of the words used might be too sophisticated for younger readers.

I noticed a few errors in the book, although these errors did not impede my reading process. Therefore, I rate Cat Detective in the Korean Peninsula 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend this book to animal lovers and children between the ages of seven to twelve.
