Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula by R.F. Kristi is the eighth book in the Inca Cat Detective Series. This wonderful children’s book talks about the Siberian cat, Inca, and her family members. Members of her family include her brother (Fromage) and sister (Cara). They all live with their mother, who is a human called Missy. Inca also owns and runs a detective agency called Inca and Company. The members of the detective agency include her siblings, a hamster called Charlotte, a Russian cat known as Monk, a massive dog called Terrance, and a small Pekinese pup called Polo. Inca’s detective agency has several records of valiant heroic acts and success stories.

Inca’s mother, Missy, who is a chef, has been selected as a judge for a French patisserie competition. The culinary competition is organized by Le Cordon Bleu and is to take place in South Korea. Meanwhile, Missy has prepared a special cheese and seeks to seize this opportunity to debut her special cheese. So, Missy travels down to South Korea with Inca and her team members. Was there any danger ahead? Did the detective agency find another case to investigate? Read this book to find out.

I enjoyed reading every single page of this adventurous children’s book. I enjoyed the storyline. It was captivating and fun to read. I was also fascinated by each character's development. The family tree illustration employed by the author at the beginning of the book helped me to easily relate to the backstory of each character. The author’s style of writing is awesome. This book is also full of humor and suspense. Despite being a children’s book, there were some amazing facts and practical lessons I learned from this book. This book also contains some information about Korean history and cultural background. Some of the themes featured in this book include family, friendship and bravery.

This is an informative, entertaining and fascinating children’s book. I had a great time reading this book. I would like to state that there is nothing about this book that I dislike.

It is amazing how this children’s book was able to grab my attention and keep me glued to the end. There are also some lessons children and adults can learn from this book. I noticed a few errors while reading this book. However, these errors did not prevent me from enjoying the book. Therefore, I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars.

I would recommend this book to children between the ages of six and twelve. I would also recommend this book to parents that love to read bedtime stories to their children.

It is not easy to make a children's book enjoyable for adults too. Seems like the author's done a good job. Right from mystery-solving to the South Korean culture. Thanks for the great review!
