As most people would agree, a family is the strongest type of union. In her children's book, Donny and Mary Grace's California Adventure, Catherine A. Pepe depicts a four-person family that demonstrates an admirable level of love and camaraderie.

The story of this book revolves around the family of Mr. John Millar, a priest who is married to Jen and has two children, Mary Grace and Donny. Donny's family has always loved him despite the fact that he was born with Down syndrome. The two parents adore their children equally, but when their father was chosen to go as a missionary in Africa for two years, things drastically changed for the entire family. What will happen to Donny and his sister if their parents relocate to Africa? Read this book to find out more.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, especially considering that it contains some true-life stories. Despite the fact that this book is intended for children, I was able to gain a lot from it. I must come to realize this. Family is great when it is based on love and respect. Above all, I was able to pick up lessons on how to create a strong family, love, sacrifice, and selflessness.

In every sense, this book is outstanding. It is important to notice that the plot is excellent and that the writing style makes it simple to understand what is being read. This book is meticulously structured into seventeen chapters, with a gripping section of the text in each chapter. The book's excellent character development is yet another intriguing feature.

Overall, I found nothing about this book to be repulsive. This book contains a small number of pictorial diagrams, but it would have been better if it contained many more that would grab young readers' attention. This book contains no typos or grammatical problems that I could identify, demonstrating the excellent editing job that the editors did. I would give this book a rating of four out of four stars. I would recommend this book to young adults, married couples, and kids ages 7 and up.
