In Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula, R.F. Kristi tells the adventurous story of Inca and Company, a detective agency Inca heads. Missy is one of the foreign judges selected at the Le Cordon Bleu organized patisseries competition in South Korea. This event would also be an opportunity for her to show the world her newly made cheese.

On getting to South Korea, Missy and her detective pets met Ye-Jun, their tour guide. He is to help them settle down in South Korea and to take them out for sightseeing. Ye-Jun has a dog named Barma. Barma looks very sad. He told Inca and his friends about Bo-Mi, his only friend who now lives across the border in North Korea with Ji, Ye-Jun's only sister. Barma wants to see Bo-Mi again. Inca and his friends offer to cross the Korean Peninsula to bring Bo-Mi back to Barma. Did they succeed in their quest to reunite the old friends? The answer is in Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula by R.F. Kristi.

There are some positive aspects of this book that are worth acknowledging. Firstly, I enjoyed the storyline of the book. It was interesting to see a company of pets trying to unravel mysteries and take risks to make friends and family happy. Again, the author's writing style is commendable. It was simple and easily comprehendible.

Furthermore, I found the character descriptions in this book to be perfect and unambiguous. When the name of a particular character was later wrongly spelt in the book, I could readily figure that it was a typo.

On the flip side, I found the plots of the book to be easily predictable. Again, I noticed a misspelling of the name of a particular character in the later part of the book. Although these didn't in any way affect my overall enjoyment of the book.

I happily rate Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula four out of four stars for a captivating storyline that got me glued to the book till the end. Again, the colourful illustrations added to my high rating of the book.

I recommend this book to children and adult readers who love adventurous stories about animals. I also think parents may add this story to their stock of tales to tell to their children.

The storyline sound interesting and a little funny to me but then I like the concept of reuniting old friends and for a children's book, it's really nice. Great review

I think Cats in Korea make for a delightful read. I wonder if Inca was able to help Barma. Thanks for the good review!
