We require more remarkable books like Daisy’s Presentation Day by Merneeta Romero. We enjoy a story about two gay dads and their adorable daughter. Daisy was adopted by her two fathers, Isiah and David. She grew up in a loving household but didn’t know what being gay meant. Daisy’s two dads explained that it was when two people of the same sex loved each other, just like them.

The day arrives for Daisy to share her presentation in front of the class. Amazingly, her presentation is about her family. However, Billy, the class bully, boos the idea of two men being in love. Daisy ends up sad and cries. In a twist of events, the guidance counselor, Mrs. Fiddlehoodle, decides to intervene. What will she say? What happens next?

I appreciated everything about the book. The author begins by introducing the physical features of David and Isiah. From the descriptions, I pictured Isiah’s large muscles and handsome face. Further, Romero mentioned David’s rough childhood, where his father scolded him for wearing feminine attire.

I loved how the guidance counselor handled everything. She was a voice to emulate. The idea of exposing kids to diverse relationships like LGBT is absolutely outstanding! I applaud Romero for her courage and open-mindedness.

I detected no grammatical errors, so the exceptional editing was worth noting. I identified no reason to loathe it. As follows, I award it 4 out of 4 stars. One aspect that stood out for me was racial diversity. Daisy was a person of color, while her dads were white.

I loved how one child’s dad enjoyed cross-dressing. The author teaches children that not everyone embraces diversity and uniqueness. Critics and haters will be there to bring you down, but don’t let them! I recommend the novella to kids with LGBT parents or relatives.
