Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula by R. F. Kristi is one of the stories in the author's cat series. It is based mainly on the cat, Inca's life and the different people and events related to it. The book is written from Inca's point of view. Inca, an animal detective, has a group of animals, mainly cats, dogs and a hamster, that work together with her to catch or expose criminals. They lived with humans who were their owners and often tried their best as pets to protect the humanoids from anything that might serve as a threat to them.

Inca's owner, 'Mom', had created a special type of cheese and had been invited to Seoul, South Korea, to present and showcase it. She flew there with all her pets, including Inca. While aboard the airplane, Enzo, who was a cheese chef too, met with them. He had been rivals with Mom since her cheese gained attention. The pets caught him when he tried to sneak away with her special cheese after they had landed in South Korea. They met with Ye Jun, who was a Korean and was to be their guide and translator. He happened to have a sister, Ji, who was on the other side, North Korea, and he needed to be reunited with her. Inca and his group decided to help out. Read to know if they were successful in their mission to reunite the siblings.

I like the simple plot used in this book. It would work best for children. They would easily understand the story and also be able to enjoy reading it without much ado. The author's use of simple but good vocabulary is superb. It is not too simple that only toddlers or preschoolers can read; it is also complex enough for older children or anyone interested in fable or children's stories to read. I loved that part about this book. Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula by R. F. Kristi was exceptionally well edited, as there were no errors found in the book. I also loved the inclusion of pictures, as they will interest young minds.

I feel that adding just a little depth to the story would have been better. The activities seemed plain. They were too predictable as well. Inasmuch as it is meant for children, adding just slight twists would have helped in further piquing their interests, but I wouldn't hold this against the author as it's obvious the book is targeted at children.

Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula by R. F. Kristi deserves a rating of 4 out of 4 stars. It was well written and edited and therefore is worthy of the stars. It also included lots of lessons for its target audience.

I recommend this book to children and anyone generally interested in simple children's stories. They would have a great time reading it as it would cater well to them.
