Cat Detectives on the Korean Peninsula: Diary of a Snoopy Cat by R.F. Kristi tells us about our soft friends' mysterious and fun adventures. The main character, Inca, heads a detective agency that has built a name for itself throughout Europe. This time, the action will move to the Korean peninsula, where new challenges and adventures are waiting for our friends.

This book teaches children a variety of valuable lessons. First of all, friendship is above everything else. You will encounter dogs and a hamster on the Inca squad; they are essential members of the team, although, in many children's books and animations, dogs and cats are perpetual opponents. I loved Inca's character- confident, with excellent communication and leadership abilities. I believe youngsters must develop these skills while having healthy self-esteem.

Inca's human mother is a member of the judges in the competition, which invited chefs from North and South Korea. In the context of the current political scenario, children may have heard about the tension on the Korean peninsula. So, once again, friendship is brought up, while the conflict and its consequences are understandably presented to the youngsters. Inca must help a family that has been torn in half by this conflict. The book also effectively introduces the reader to Korean culture, as the main character is shown on the cover in traditional Korean clothing. This detail is valuable and significant. I also found a new favorite and theme word in this book: "purrrfect."

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. I decided to give it a perfect rating because I cannot think of anything I didn't like about this book. The pictures are vivid and amusing, the shift size and form are excellent, the book is nicely organized, and although being part of a series, it can be read as a standalone book. The story takes the form of a journal, where the main character describes the events of the previous week. Cat Detectives on the Korean Peninsula: Diary of a Snoopy Cat is a professionally edited book since I noticed only one minor error.

I recommend this book to young readers who like fun and educational adventures. Because of the lessons, it teaches the reader, the book is definitely worth reading.
