This book is adorable! I read it through once on my own, and then the second time, I read it with my kids. And now I’m going to have to buy the whole series because we all fell in love with Inca, Fromage, Cara, Charlotte, Terrance, and their Korean friends. Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula by R.F. Kristi is a beautiful story about the animal owners of the humans Missy and Solo (because we all know that our pets actually own us) and the adventures they get up to while travelling the world with their humanoids.

I love how the author teaches children about current events by giving them a hopeful outlook that even though things are not ideal in certain parts of the world, there is always the possibility that they can get better through kindness and acceptance. The animals all have their own unique personalities and characteristics, and by working together, they overcome even the most daunting problems. The sentences and paragraphs are kept reasonably short and straightforward, making it ideal for a children’s book, and the illustrations are adorable.

The book's font is quite challenging to read. I suggest that the author consider a simpler font. Especially since the idea behind a children’s book is not only that it is read to them by adults but that they eventually start reading it themselves. And for children who are just beginning to develop their reading skills, a difficult-to-read font could be problematic.

I give this book 4 out of 4 stars as it is well-edited, and I would recommend this book to parents who want books that will teach their children kindness, and good moral values, while they enjoy the adorable characters.

This is a good book for children between the ages of 6 and 10 who are starting to try and read by themselves and can understand abstract thoughts.
