Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula is an exceptional children’s book by R.F. Kristi. Kristi is based in Paris. Her journey as a writer began in 2016. Since then, she has published 8 books. She has also won several awards, including the Wishing Shelf (UK) award, the Top Shelf (USA), and so on. She once worked for UNICEF and is the Founder of Animal Wellness Trust in Sri Lanka.

The story is short, and it revolves around a cat called Inca who lives in a lovely home with other cats. When mom, the owner of the house, gets an invitation to be the judge at a baking competition in Korea, she decides to travel with all her pets. Unfortunately, Enzo is also going to Korea and has some devious plans towards mom, but the pets, Inca and company, always come to the rescue and neutralize Enzo’s unkind plans.

As an art lover, I could appreciate the vibrancy of the illustrations in this book. They are stylized, simple, and very nice to look at. I’m sure the children who read this book will enjoy looking at the illustrations and probably try to draw them. The characters were super lively. I could almost feel their enthusiasm touch my face. I also like the length of this book because a lot of children's books are way shorter than this. However, with over a hundred pages, I think it might be too long for children under the age of 4.

I disliked nothing about this book because the author wrote straightforwardly, and her choice of words was simple. I believe this book was edited professionally. However, another round of editing might have prevented the error I spotted while reading this book.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because I enjoyed reading it and believe more children should have access to books like this that they will enjoy. I didn’t rate it lower because I didn’t have any complaints about this book. I recommend this book to children between the ages of 4 and 10 years. Adults who are learning to read English may also use this book to practice.

This book, in my opinion, is a cute funny book that will catch any child's attention. With beautiful illustrations, what child wouldn't want to hold this book forever. I'm trying to get my hand on the complete series for my children. They will be so thrilled to have these to keep themselves busy. Fantastic!!!
