The White Harlequin by Daphne Tzamali-Yakinthou is a children's book. A major event was taking place in the land of charms and reflections, and Sugarcandy and his best friend Spot were determined not to miss it. In the event, the storm maidens were preparing their loom to weave powerful magic. While the storm-maidens were weaving magic with their loom, an evil force attempted to destroy them. Aboard the ship Dreamglow, Sugarcandy and Spot set sail after the storm-maidens' were attacked to save everyone from the evil forces that had overrun the land of dreams.

The author's world in the book seems very magical and full of sweetness, like something out of a child's imagination. I like the politeness portrayed by the author's characters in a children's book. The artwork isn't what you'd expect to see in a children's book. The book has songs, and the author wrote most of the story in rhyme.

The negative aspects of the book were the book's illustrations. They are different and distracting from the overall experience. The book was difficult for me to read because sometimes I couldn't follow what was happening, especially at the beginning.

The positive aspects were that I liked that the descriptions were in a lot of detail and that it was written for children. I liked that the children could learn from this book that light will always overcome darkness.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because there's a magical world inside this book that I think kids will love to explore. Despite my initial confusion, I realized that the story quickly became easier to read, and I couldn't wait to find out what happened next. I found the ending to be satisfying because it was unexpected. Though I noticed a few typos, overall, I think the book was professionally edited.

I recommend this book to anyone over the age of seven, especially those with a vivid imagination.
