Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula: Diary of a Snoopy Cat, written by R.F. Kristi, is a children's book about a cat Inca and her team of detectives. Missy, Inca's human mother, had been invited as a judge in a cooking competition between North Korea and South Korea after cooking a wonderful cheese. Inca's family left for South Korea, where they met Ye-Jun, a tour guide who showed them where to stay. Ye-Jun shared his apartment with his dog Baram, and Inca with her cat detectives befriended the dog. They learned that Ye-Jun's sister, Ji, lived with her cat, Bo-mi, in North Korea. Inca and her detective team start to investigate to bring back the whole family together. Will they manage to reunite the family? Read this book and find out.

I liked several things in the book. Firstly, I liked the use of animal pictures in the book. Pictures make children want to read the book, and since the author provided pictures of the animals she used as characters, it enables the children to imagine how the animals looked like and enjoy the story. Secondly, I liked the author's style of using animals as characters to do intelligent things, such as the investigation Inca and her cat detective team did. It enables children to appreciate animals and learn their importance. Finally, the book is full of drama and action, such as the ones involving Inca crossing the border, which entertains and teaches the children.

I did not find anything to criticize in the book since it was great. The sentences were short, and the content per page was low, encouraging children to read it.

I rate Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula: Diary of a Snoopy Cat by R.F. Kristi five out of five stars. The book was exceptionally well-edited; hence, I found no errors. It had many positive aspects and no negative aspects; thus, it deserves a perfect rating.

I recommend this book to children between 5-12 years. It would be helpful since the use of animals as characters and the book's storyline best fits children in that when they refer to the illustrations in the book, they understand the story better.
