[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "The Christmas Poopy" by Joshua Rapp Iverson.]

Papa wrote and sent a letter to Santa Claus detailing what he wanted as a Christmas present. Santa didn’t know how to go about it, so he spoke to his wife, Mrs. Claus, about it. Mrs. Claus said it was a very easy thing to do. So, Santa wrote a letter to Papa's child asking for his help to make his Papa's Christmas wishes come true. Was the child able to help Santa Claus and make his Papa happy? What was it that Papa wanted as a Christmas present?

The Christmas Poopy by Joshua Rapp Iverson is a short and intriguing children's story. I didn’t know what a poopy was until I read this book. Therefore, one of the things I like about this book is that I was able to learn a new word from it. I love the simple way in which this story was written. It was written in clear and understandable language. I didn’t find any ambiguous words in this book. I love the way the author caught my attention from the very first page of this book. I mean, I am not even a child, but I was left wondering how the story would end from the very first page. Another thing I admired was the pictures the author placed in the book; they were big and colourful, just like children love them.

As a children's book, I did not expect to see any errors in it, but I found one minor error. Some of the pictures placed in this book were not complete. I couldn’t see the heads of the characters depicted in the picture, or when I would see the head, the legs could not be seen. This was something I disliked about this book, and I am sure the children will not like it too. Also, Mrs. Claus was later referred to as Martha and Santa Claus as Nicholas. I feel like this would be confusing to the children. They might think they are another set of characters in the book.

This book was professionally edited, as I found only one error. Therefore, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. The negative aspects I stated above are not enough reasons to deduct a star from my rating. I really enjoyed this book, and I gave it a rating it deserved.

I recommend this book to children above the age of five. Parents should read the book to their children so that they would explain the story and the pictures better to them.

The intrigue is simply beautiful and innocent. I am sure many children will find it captivating. I hope the author will give the book another round of editing and fix the issue with the pictures. Images are decisive for a child to decide to pick up a book from the bookshelf or not.

I find children's books interesting and simple and this does not seem to be an exception. However, I believe the tiny issue you noted might not be appreciated by the target audience. Thank you for the review.
