The Adventures of Digital Girl by Ron L. Adam tells the story of a girl named Alana who discovers that her apps and pictures have gone missing. When others discover the same thing, Alana decides to take matters into her own hands. She transforms into Digital Girl. The Digital Girl and her digital dog discover the location of the missing data. It has been stolen by Cyber Billy! Can Digital Girl return the data to its rightful owners, or will Cyber Billy escape with all of the data? Read The Adventures of Digital Girl to find out!

This book is a modern take on a superhero story. I like how Digital Girl uses modern devices such as tablets and apps to help her locate and fight Cyber Billy. It makes the story relatable to young people who have grown up with this type of technology. The illustrations are vibrant and enrich the story. While there is combat, it is cartoonish and portrayed innocently. It is not scary or upsetting to young readers.

A drawback to the story was that there was no clear motive for Cyber Billy to steal the data. It would have been better if the author included a plan for what Cyber Billy intended to do with the data. There was an attempt to teach a lesson at the end, but it seemed disconnected from the rest of the story as well.

I would give this book 4 out of 5 stars. There were some minor editing errors, and I think the story could use a few little tweaks to make it flow better. Including a motive for Cyber Billy and explaining how the lesson at the end fits into the story would have made a big difference.

I would recommend this book to young children interested in technology. Kids who like superhero books would also like this book because Digital Girl and Cyber Billy are very similar to a superhero and a villain. Kids as young as three and as old as ten could enjoy the story about Digital Girl. They could easily imagine themselves as the main character, trying to save their computer’s data. Children will delight in reading about Digital Girl’s adventures.

This book talks about how Alana discovered that her data and some others had gone missing and decided to find it by transforming into a digital girl. The book illustrations were vibrant but there was a little drawback. I am glad you enjoyed reading this book. Nice review.

I love how intelligent Alana is. Children should be taught how to programme from an earliest stage possible. I love superhero books, as they teach children a lot of lessons.

She is still learning to read. I sensed my 3-year-old niece loves books because she even tells me a story of her imagination, and flipping pages of her drawing book. Yes, I hope the author will turn it into a series. I will grab those books in the future. And you're welcome Julie!
