Time Guardians is written by PT Mason. When Sir Aerl is injured during a battle and comes close to death, all he wants is to discover more of what life has to offer. That is when small, cat-like creatures come out from the Land of Kitticus and save him. What is strange about these creatures is that they are clothed in travelling robes, and walking upright as if they were humans. Sir Aerl learns that he has shape-shifting abilities, and he learns about Alesyia, which is a magical realm filled with new and strange creatures. All of the creatures there had existed together in one realm for centuries.

A new evil is awoken by a traitor named Sami Stormbringer. Sir Aerl learns that it is not only Alesyia that is in danger when this evil threatens the land. Now, Sir Aerl, his brother, and the children must wait and prepare for the day until they are called to fight alongside their furry alliances. Failing to do so would cause destruction to their own world as well. Will the family come together and defeat the evil that is threatening their lands, or will their lands become a state of darkness?

This book is probably best suited for children between the ages of 9-13, in my opinion anyway. This book was very engaging and adventurous. It was a little strange because of the walking cats, but I guess that is what kind of made it fun. What I liked most about this book is that it was simplistic and straight to the point. You understand right away what Sir Aerl wants. He wants to serve God and help the people, or creatures around him. He has a courageous and loyal heart. The shape-shifting topic has been done quite a lot, but I felt that PT Mason did a good job at adding an interesting twist that is suitable for children. There was no bad language or gory fighting scenes. The illustrations in the book also help create a good idea of what the author is trying to portray and what he wants the readers to see. It is a good story of good vs. evil. As it always should, this story shows that good always wins.

I would definitely recommend this book to others, especially people who are looking for a book for their kids to read. It would be a fun and adventurous book for them to read, and it shows how good things can happen when you are helping others. It is a good example of teamwork and community. Plus, reading about knights and a different time in the past should be a lot of fun for children.

I give Time Guardians 4 out of 4 stars. I didn't give this book a lower score because I really couldn't find anything wrong with the book. Maybe it was unrealistic, but children's books aren't supposed to be realistic. They are supposed to be fun and portray good messages, which I feel that this novel succeeded. All of the reasons I mentioned above are why I would recommend that people get this book for their children.

Sounds like a great book. The upright cat people kind of makes me think of Shrek.

Thank you khardman6700, Rachaelamb1, and april-ballard for responding to my review. This is a perfect book for a preteen to read. The walking cats certainly do create a high level of imagination, which is what I enjoyed most about the book. It was fun and creative, and it does show good morals for kids. The illustrations should be fun for them as well. Thanks again, I am happy that you all enjoyed my review :)
