What gift do you get a little boy on his birthday? You can get him a toy car, or a figurine, or you can get him a bicycle. But if you are Great-aunt Rita (and she really is GREAT!), you get that little boy a green Tyrannosaurus Rex. What happens when you put batteries inside that green Tyrannosaurus Rex? Your whole life turns upside down. Great-aunt Rita (and she really is GREAT!), with the help of Jake and Elina Farber, authored Roarasaurus, a story about a little dinosaur that turned Jake’s life into chaos. At first, Jake was excited to get the gift, but after a short while of playing with it, he hated it. But the story doesn't end there, and Great-aunt Rita tells the rest of it.

A good indicator of a great children's book is repeatability. Because most of these books tend to be tiny (and this one only has 24 tiny pages), they become more valuable if a child can read it a few times and enjoy it all the same. In my adult brain, I think children would enjoy this book read to them more than once. The way it ends makes it sweet and warm, which will likely go down well with little children.

Mike Sofka is credited with the book's illustrations, and I must say that he did a stellar job. The colours are vibrant, and they match the story's loud feel.

There's nothing wrong I can comment on about the book. It's pretty awesome for a children's book, and I don't see any reason why children won't enjoy it. It's also edited exceptionally well. I rate it 5 out of 5 stars.

I would recommend this book to children from the age of two years to those who are around the age of five or six. I think that it'll largely depend on the child's level of reading. I think that the book may be too short for children who can read well on their own.
