In R.F. Kristi's children's book, Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula, Inca and her fellow animal agents recently returned from a successful mission in Sri Lanka, where they protected the country's cultural treasures. Excited for their next adventure, they accompany their mother, Missy, who has been selected as a judge for a French patisserie competition in South Korea. However, an incident on their flight threatens to prevent Missy from participating. Upon arrival, they are assisted by Ye-Jun, their guide and translator, who offers them a place to stay. As they settle into their temporary home, the team of detectives find themselves facing new challenges and mysteries to solve.

In Cat detectives in the Korean Peninsula by R.F. Kristi, readers are taken on an exciting adventure with Inca and her team of feline detectives. The eighth book in the Inca Cat Detective series, this story follows the team as they set out on a mission to save one of their own. Inca's diary becomes a central part of the story as she records the events of the adventure. The plot is filled with thrilling moments while still maintaining a light-hearted and heartwarming tone, free of any violence. Although it is part of a series, the book can be enjoyed independently as well.

The book offered valuable insights on the ongoing conflict between North and South Korea. It provided detailed information on the policies and practices of both nations, as well as historical context for the longstanding dispute. As a reader, I gained a deeper understanding of the complex issues at play and the perspectives of the authors, who believe that the conflict is unnecessary.

The inclusion of illustrations throughout the text was appreciated. They serve as a visual aid, allowing young readers to better imagine the scenes being described. The use of bright and vibrant colors also captures the attention of children, making the reading experience more engaging.

There was nothing I disliked about this book. The book was also exceptionally edited. Therefore, I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I would recommend this book to kids who enjoy animal stories.
