Review of Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula
Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula is the eighth book in the Inca Cat series by R.F. Kristi. The book is a short and interesting children's story about Inca, the Siberian kitty, and his furry family, who journey to South Korea for the French cooking competition, together with their human mom.
After their mom got the invitation to serve as one of the judges in the cooking competition, Inca and the rest of the team became super excited for this once-in-a-lifetime event. They all prepared well and headed down to Seoul. Their human mom, who just made a new cheese recipe, was also excited. On getting to Seoul, their tour guide Yejun showed them around town and even took them to the beautiful Namsan Park to see the cherry blossoms, then they all went to his house afterwards. Eventually, the team found out that Yejun's sister had been forcibly separated from Yejun and now resides in North Korea with their Korean cat, Bomi. Now, Inca and the team are saddled with the responsibility of reuniting Yejun and his sister. But in order to do that, they have to cross over to the north and maneuver the security in the demilitarized zone. Do you think this mission will be possible? This book was fun to read. The author did a great job of incorporating picture illustrations and imagery into the pages of the book. This will help children concentrate on the story and have a fun time reading. Even though it happens to be a children's book, there was a thrilling suspense that made me want to read the book even more. This book will be easy to recommend as there are several moral lessons that children can learn. lessons like unity, cooperation, and thoughtfulness. Also, children can learn about the cultures and politics of the countries mentioned.
