Review of The Tales of Nana Nini
The Tales of Nana Nini, written by Susan Edie Ashe, is a fun-filled and chaotic children’s story following the adventures of Nana, her granddaughter Eden, and the two dogs, Murphy and Roxy. Together, the family hops in the crowded car and embarks on a fantastic adventure.
The trip takes the family around Arizona, where they learn valuable lessons about the land and themselves. Despite the many mishaps along the way, the motley crew still manages to have a grand adventure filled with fun. The journey also gives the group a chance to learn how to deal with bullies and other unfortunate situations in a positive way.
I liked all the chaos in this book. I never knew what was going to happen next, and it never failed to make me laugh. Even though the book incorporated lessons about deeper topics such as bullying and self-confidence, it remained entertaining from beginning to end with all of Nana’s hilarious antics. The light-hearted humor of the characters made them all extremely fun and loveable.
There were also many adorable illustrations throughout the story. The pictures were all just as chaotic as the story and filled with color and vibrancy. Along with that, the illustrations provided great visual representation as I read the book.
There was nothing I disliked about this book. The story was hilarious, and I learned many new things about Arizona. The author did a fantastic job of delivering valuable life lessons in a light-hearted and entertaining way. Along with that, I found no grammatical errors as this book was exceptionally well-edited.
Due to the reasons listed above, I rate The Tales of Nana Nini 5 out of 5 stars. This book was hilarious, and I was completely immersed from beginning to end. This would be an excellent book for young readers who are dealing with bullying or just need a little more confidence. This would also be a terrific bedtime story or a book to keep in a classroom.
