Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula, written by R.F. Kristi, is a children's story about the activities of Inca and her fury friends across the northern and southern Korean borders just shortly after they arrived in South Korea with Inca's mother, who is an official in a cooking competition organised by Le Cordon Bleu. It is a tale of friendship, discovery, and reunion.

The narration was quite fascinating, and this somehow made it possible for the author to explore a couple of themes and shift between about three settings and yet keep the storyline simple and easily comprehensible to children. The language was engaging as well, which should be able to sustain children's attention throughout this 116-page read.

The character development was marvellous, as each of the characters exhibited traits appropriate to their role and status in the story. For example, Inca, who is the leader of a detective company called Inca & Company, is portrayed as bold, daring, adventurous, cooperative, resilient, and compassionate. These are the traits required of a competent leader, and Inca had them all.

I would like to note how happy I was reading about the themes in this story. They are very educational and motivating. The family tree at the beginning of the story is informative, as it will help children acquaint themselves with Inca's family members. The characters in this story are active and play key roles in driving the story forward. My favourite characters are Inca and Fromage. Again, the illustrations are wonderful and help make the story more interesting.

Finally, I was impressed that the book was professionally edited. I found one grammatical error in it. It's great to note that I didn't dislike anything in this book. Hence, I rate it five out of five stars, which is justified by the amazing aspects of the book already highlighted in the above paragraphs. I don't have any reasons to rate it lower. Readers between the ages of three and twelve will enjoy this book, especially those who love adventure stories.
