We should learn to dwell on the positive rather than the negative in life. Even if it can be challenging, maintaining our happiness and positivity should always be our top goal. Catherine A. Pepe's book Donny and Mary Grace's California Adventures sheds a lot of light on this.

News of their parents' departure for Africa arrives as their summer vacation is coming to an end. Mary Grace does not want her parents to leave since she is a protective sister to both herself and her younger brother, Donny, who has Down syndrome. Discover what fresh experiences she and her brother may encounter as they travel to their grandparents' home by reading this book.

This book's diction is very practical and simple to understand. It has a cleverly constructed plot, which I thought was rather original. The details in this book seemed cozy and natural, so the author knows what she's doing. The illustrations in this book captivated me because they helped me picture the characters and events therein. I thought this book's character descriptions were excellent since I could identify with several of them. Each character was dynamic and had a specific personality and role, which I found appealing.

This is a heartwarming book; I loved every moment of it. It moved at a steady pace, which was soothing for me. This book has a lot of amazing qualities, which I adore, from the positivity of the characters to the many new things they experienced. I find this book to be extremely inspirational. This book was exceptionally well edited, and for these reasons, I will give it a rating of 5 out of 5 stars.

I will suggest this book to both kids and adults since I believe it has a lot of valuable lessons. I also believe that those who adore detective fiction will find it entertaining.
