Review of Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula
Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula by R.F. Kristi is an interesting children's book that follows the story of the Inca, a Siberian cat detective who runs her own successful company, Inca and Company, along with her furry friends. Her detective agency was famous in England because it solved many cases in the past. The story starts with Missy, Inca's guardian, being invited to be one of the judges of a French pastry competition in Korea, and Inca and her friends would be coming along.
Missy wants to use the competition as a way to present her new cheese to the world. From the moment they met Enzo, her biggest rival who was also a chef at the airport, they knew trouble was brewing. Will Inca and her friends be able to stop Enzo from damaging their beloved cheese?
Their tour guide, Ye-Jun, takes them on a wild ride through various places in Korea, where they learn about Korean history and the division between North and South Korea. Find out about their adventures in North Korea and how they reunited a separated family.
What I loved most about this book were the captivating descriptions and visually appealing graphics. The author does a fantastic job of bringing the characters and their surroundings to life with vivid language and detailed drawings. Inca is a wonderful character that any child would love. She is smart, intuitive, and adventurous. Her furry friends are not left out. Each one of them has something that sets them apart. The characters are fun to read about. The style of writing was engaging, so it is easy for a reader to immerse themselves in the book.
The story is also very captivating. The book is filled with fun, adventure, valuable lessons, and unforgettable experiences. I especially appreciated the message about working together and finding peace, which is a valuable lesson for children of all ages.
I don't think there's anything to dislike. It was a good book; it is obvious that the author is a professional and she gets it right all the time.
The book is well written, well edited, and a fast and enjoyable read. I rate it 5 out of 5 stars. There was nothing to complain about, so I can give it a perfect rating. I'd love to read the other books in the series.
I recommend this book to children aged 7 to 12. Parents can buy it and read it to their children. I'm sure they'll love the book because the story is captivating, there are subtle lessons inside the book, and the colorful pictures are the perfect fit for young children.
