Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula by R. F. Kristi is a captivating children's book featuring the adventures of Inca, a Siberian cat who leads a team of animal detectives in their investigative agency. In this story, Inca and her team embark on a thrilling journey to South Korea with Missy, Inca's human companion, who has been chosen as a judge for a prestigious baking competition. While on the trip, Missy plans to showcase her latest cheese creation, which attracts the attention of her business rival, Enzo. When the cheese goes missing at the airport, Inca and her team must use their detective skills to uncover the culprit and retrieve the stolen cheese before the competition starts. The book offers a delightful and exciting storyline that captures the imagination of young readers. It's an engaging tale of adventure, teamwork, and problem-solving that showcases the intelligence and resourcefulness of Inca and her animal friends. Through the book, readers will learn about Korean culture and cuisine while enjoying a fun-filled mystery adventure.

The book's educational component immediately caught my attention. It provides an in-depth exploration of South Korea's various cultures and the demilitarized zone, where an exciting cooking competition takes place. Inca, the story's protagonist, is a knowledgeable and self-assured character who plays a critical role in maintaining peace between South Korea and North Korea during the event. I found the book to be suspenseful and engaging, with a well-constructed plot that kept me hooked from start to finish. It is a perfect read for children, as it is short and to the point without being too technical. The book's unique characters and the gradual development of the plot at a steady pace are also noteworthy. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, and it exceeded my expectations.

I really appreciated the unique and captivating language used in the book, as well as the stunning artwork and detailed descriptions. Inca has a talent for bringing events to life with her words, and the illustrations of various animals, Korean streets, and other important locations were truly impressive. They added an extra layer of visual appeal that made the book all the more attractive.

However, I did find that some of the more advanced vocabulary used in the book may be a bit challenging for younger readers. In these instances, it may be necessary for a parent or guardian to assist to help the child fully understand the meaning of certain words.
Despite this minor issue, I would give the book a solid 5 out of 5 stars due to its ability to educate children about real places and their histories, as well as its top-notch illustrations and lovable characters. Also, I did not encounter any errors, which makes me give credit to the exceptional editing of the book. The story itself was enjoyable and contained valuable lessons about love and friendship that are sure to resonate with young readers.

I highly recommend Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula by R. F. Kristi to children between the ages of 8 and 13 who enjoy reading about mystery, love, and friendship. Additionally, those who have an interest in learning about different cultures from around the world will find the book to be both informative and engaging.
