Missy was one of the judges at a cooking competition. She had to travel to South Korea to perform her duties as a judge. She brought Inca, Fromage, her boyfriend, and her other pets to make the most of this opportunity. Inca saw this as the perfect opportunity to see new sights. She was optimistic about seeing the Korean Peninsula and learning all she could about the land. Nothing prepared her for the grim look on Baram's face when she recounted how she got separated from Bo-Mi, her friend. Inca was sorrowful at the thought that Baram had to carry that pain for years. She wanted to make things right. That is how the adventure of Inca into North Korea began. Will Missy allow her to go on this rescue mission? Will Bo-Mi allow herself to be rescued if Inca ever finds her?

Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula is a book that is perfect for young readers who believe cats and dogs can be heroes. Inca is a cat. Her whole team is made up of different animals. Do you see why I recommend this book to that audience?

With the recommendations out of the way, the next thing I will dwell on is how much I loved this book. I may not fall into the category of people who are considered "young readers," but that did not stop me from loving Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula. After all, I was taught to always appreciate good things when I see them. Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula is a good book. In fact, it is more than that. It is an awesome book that taught me much about the two great Korean nations. It highlighted their similarities and their differences. It juxtaposed their values and helped me understand how things are run in both countries. I knew R.F. Kristi was a writer with the talent to turn animals into brave characters. I was expecting a book about the adventures of a brave cat. I was not expecting to be taught Korean history. This is the biggest thing I liked most about Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula.

There was nothing to dislike about this short novel. The writing style R.F. Kristi adopted was different from the norm. She wrote Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula in the style of a diary. That added flavor to the story and contributed to my falling in love with the book. She also wove words in ways that drew great sympathy from me for the characters. If you ask me to make negative comments about this novel, I will tell you I have none. I also noticed that it was edited in a professional manner.

Because of how good this book is, I have decided to give it the ultimate rating of 5 out of 5 stars. I bet you already expected that. I finished reading this book and hurriedly rushed to check if R.F. Kristi had other books. Imagine my glee when I found that she has written many other books focusing on Inca, Missy, and their family's exploits. I cannot wait to read them.
