Review of Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula
Have you ever visited the Korean Peninsula? I have not, but Inca has, and she has much to say about it. In her diary, which R.F. Kristi named Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula, she talked about how she got there in the first place. She went there on vacation. Her human mom, who was appointed a judge in a cooking competition between North Korea and South Korea, made that possible. Her job as the head cat in the house was to enjoy herself, learn as much as she could, and go back home with her family after the competition. However, something else demanded her attention. Her host desired to be reunited with her friend, with whom she had lost contact. While this host resided in South Korea, that friend stayed in North Korea. Reuniting seemed impossible. But Inca has learned to be pessimistic when faced with such a situation. Read Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula to follow her on her journey to reunite these two friends. You will see everything Inca learns on that journey, which has a 50% chance of turning into a disaster if care is not taken.
From the moment I saw the title of this book, I knew it would be awesome. I knew what a great book Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula would be after I opened the first page and read the first few words. It gave me more than I could have ever asked for. Its characters are smart, brave, and fearless. The story it tells is one of friendship, sacrifice, and empathy. I have heard many things about Inca's exploits from people around me, and she indeed has a heart of gold. It is also true that her creator is a brilliant woman. R.F. Kristi, the author of this book, made me see how easy it is to have compassion for someone one is just meeting for the first time. She taught me many valuable lessons throughout the story she told in Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula. I will be forever grateful to her.
I enjoyed how R.F. Kristi killed several birds with one story. She taught me about South Korea's quarrel with North Korea many years ago. I also learned about the demilitarized zone and what is to be expected when one finds themselves there. I learned about the pain both countries experienced and the tragedy that befell millions of their citizens. The story about the history of these two nations may have been grim, but I am glad I learned it. R.F. Kristi was bold enough to tell these stories. That is what I liked most in Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula.
Of course, it is expected that before a book can be given an excellent rating, it must have been edited properly. While I will not say it lacked errors, I will definitely say it was edited professionally. Why? Because these errors were not many. They were not even up to five. Another reason I will give Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula an excellent rating is its drama. There was so much drama and humor in the book. Inca and her friends experienced many things and found a way to make those experiences look funny. A classic example is Fromage's story of how he protected his mother's prized cheese like a guard dog. He was a cat, by the way.
After thinking long and hard, I did not recall disliking anything about Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula. If I say anything negative about it, that would be a lie. Because it was so excellent, I give it a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. There is no reason for me to give it a lower rating.
I loved this work called Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula. I found that to be so because I have a fondness for cats. Therefore, I recommend it to readers who love cats and enjoy reading books in which cats are the stars of the plot. Besides seeing one of your favorite animals do wonders, you will also learn much about the Korean Peninsula.
