Snatched Up to Heaven for Kids by Jemima Paul and Arvind Paul is a children’s book meant to inspire the younger minds of Christian children. It is about a family constantly indulging in prayers and reading the Bible. The parents of eight-year-old Emma and six-year-old Bella have always taught them about God, His love for His children, and how they should love Him back. The story is predominantly about Emma, who dreams about heaven and God. She excitedly shares the vivid details of what heaven is like, how God looks over His people, and how it is the most stunning place she has ever seen.

I like how the story unfolds as Emma shares her dreams. The extraordinary scenes in heaven match the descriptions in the Bible. It must have been incredible for her to see the people she had only heard about from the Bible stories, to experience the exquisite nature, and how all the creatures lived together in harmony. The illustrations will fascinate a young child. It will provide an empty canvas for the readers to unleash their imaginative creativity.

I was slightly displeased with the depiction of hell in the story. Since it is a book for children, the authors should have been gentler. Yes, indeed, children should be taught to do the right thing. However, they should do it because it is right and not out of fear of going to hell. That was the only thing I disliked, but that did not affect my opinion of this book.

Because I did not find any errors, I can say the book was exceptionally well-edited. Excluding the dissatisfaction mentioned earlier, I found no concerns with the book. Hence, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

This book intends to convey to children a sense of what Christianity means. It answers questions about Jesus and how to grow in faith. I recommend this book to parents who want their children to know more about God.

I have seen other reviewers mention how hell is handled in this book. It is a delicate balance of being truthful and also taking into account the age of the readers. Hopefully, the adult sharing this book with their kids will convey the reality of hell in a way that is appropriate for them. Emma did a great job of sharing her experiences.

I would agree with you that using scare-tactics for younger children is unnecessary and could lead to an element of fear in their understanding of the bible. This does not sound age-appropriate, as you mentioned. Thank you for your honest review.

My niece asked me where is heaven? Why she didn't see it? Sometimes it's hard to explain, she has lots of questions and she's too young to explain all of it. This book will probably answer well some of her questions. I'd like to read it for her. Your review is amazing!

Thanks so much for your review! I read the adult version of this book and had similar thoughts about hell, as the details come from the author's own child. Thinking of my own 4 year old, it would likely give them nightmares! I am glad to hear the illustrations were nice though.

Yes, Catalina, I agree. That part would be a little scary for younger kids. It would have to be handled gently by the person reading it to them.

The book sounds like a good read for kids. No two opinions on your view about use of fear tactics. If the description of hell is used as described by you, this has to be a book that "read out" by parents to the kids. Parents can tone down description as appropriate.

Emma's incredulous experience is truly breathtaking. To think she's only 8 and her narration fits perfectly with the ones in the Bible.
I would like to read this book soonest. Thanks for your well-written review.

This book gave a great depiction of heaven from two young children. This is a book both adult and children, especially Christians, should read. Great review.

I totally agree with your review especially when you say children should be taught to do the right thing because it's right and not because they were consequences. Great job
