Review of Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula
Have you ever imagined that cats could speak? Have you ever wondered how cats and humans could work together as a team? Well, we see such things happen in animal books like Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula by R.F. Kristi. However, the cats in this book do not just work with humans or relate to them; they also have their own agency and a particular task to carry out.
Let me start by telling you who the cat here is. The name of this cat is Inca. She is a Siberian cat; she also doubles as the head of a detective agency, which we learn about as we read the book further. Just as said, the cats exist among humans, and in the book, the name of their human mom is Missy. You will learn about the names of other cats when you read the book. I'm sure you might be wondering what led them to be detective workers and what happened that made them go on a detective mission. Missy is a judge in the book. She makes cheese and is good at doing this. Now that a patisserie competition will take place between South and North Korea, Missy has been invited to participate in this competition, not as a fellow competitor but as a judge. The air was filled with joy as all the cats would also be going with her to the competition. Missy will also have to present her new cheese during the competition. The team and Missy were so saddened that this cheese was gone suddenly. How did that manage to happen? The book will give an answer to that.
It is of no use saying that this book was not interesting. In fact, there are numerous aspects of the book that are positive to the core. The competition, the presentation of Missy's cheese, the teamwork of the cats, the manner in which they carry out their investigation, and many other aspects like this made the book extremely interesting to read. I liked how the cats, including Solo and his dog, were also part of those going to the competition. This also denotes the type of unison among the family, and it teaches traders about the importance of having a good family relationship, not one bound by selfish interests. It was also amazing to read about how the team decided to ensure that Ye-Jun and his sister were able to see each other after a long time. This is literally the best part of the book. I could relate because I have also experienced what it means to miss a loved one or a relative.
Saying something negative about this book is the same thing as being wicked. This is because the book has no negative aspects. The book was void of errors, so I noted that it had been exceptionally edited.
I rate the book five out of five stars. No negatives and no grammar errors; the book was also full of moral lessons, so it deserves this rating.
The book is recommended to readers whose interests revolve around animal books.
