Katie appeared to be a typical kid on the outside, but she understood her cat. Things became even stranger when an oak tree outside her classroom window at school began to speak to her. It asked for her assistance, and the oak tree begged her to tell the school to stop shedding its leaves. Katie tried her best, but others did not believe the oak tree had spoken to her. Katie couldn't be unhappier because things weren't going well at home. It appeared that her parents were going to divorce.

While she was at home thinking about what to do, there was an earthquake, the earth opened up, and Katie fell in. She thought she'd fallen into the basement at first, but after meeting Za, a purple-skinned short boy, she became less certain. Katie discovers she is trapped between two worlds and must assist Za in completing a quest before she can return home. To find out if they succeeded, read Ellen Dee Davidson's book titled WIND.

I liked how this book was written; it was written in a conversational tone, which made it easy to read. This book was exciting from the start; there was no unnecessary world-building, and it was simple to understand. It had a lot of moral lessons to teach. One lesson I liked in this children's book was about bad words. I liked how the author made Katie and Za regret and apologize for all the bad and arrogant words they said. I found no mistakes while reading this book. It was flawlessly edited. I also like how the story ended.

Everything about this book appeals to me. The only flaw I found in this book was that it contained words that would be considered too complex for a children's book. I don't think this is such a bad thing because it will help the children develop their vocabulary.

This book was beautifully written, easy to read, and fast-paced. It emphasized the importance of friendship and family. This is something that children should learn. As a result, I believe it is appropriate to give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

This book is recommended for children who are good with words and are ready to learn new words through a beautiful story. Teachers can also use this book to teach children good morals as well as new words.
