This children’s book opens with eight and six-year-old sisters, Emma and Bella, who are blessed with everything a little girl could ever want. Their loving parents read the bible to them and pray with them every night, before bed. One night, the oldest, Emma, has a special dream: She and Bella are literally snatched up to heaven by angels where she gains a glimpse of the beauty, perfection, ethereality and bliss of heaven and Jesus. The dream didn’t stop there, they would continue every night, and every day she would wake up excited to tell stories of them to her family.

Her dreams involved her visiting heaven and spending time with the Father. Heaven seemed to consist of everything and every one good in the world but multiplied. Although, these visions aren’t always so blissful, as with Heaven there comes Hell. The readers learn of the terror and punishment brought if one does not repent for their sins.

Snatched up to Heaven for kids by Jemima Paul, can teach young readers a great deal about heaven and the importance of having a relationship with and loving God, as he loves them. There is the use of bright and beautiful illustrations that easily display the sequence of events and visual images described throughout the story, making it suitable for children. The storytelling from a child’s perspective makes the book more engaging, relatable and easier to follow for young readers. Emma’s dreams leave not only her family, but the book’s readers very engaged in the story.

Without a doubt, I would rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars. As a young Christian adult myself, I can find absolutely no errors or faults in this book. It was clearly well-edited. I enjoyed it so much that, I would say it is just not long enough.

I would recommend this book for believers of Christ, from young to old. Jemima Paul takes the reader through the differences between the spiritual realms of existence, in a way that is easy to follow. Through reading this book we see the likeness of the afterlife as described through the eyes of a child. While serving as a religious educational ground for children, it also reminds parents of the importance of teaching their children to follow and love God and know that they can only find eternal life in Him.
