Review of A Long Ago place
The excitement of wanting to have children is unsurpassed. Science cannot express the emotion of returning home to see your children. In Donna Betten's novel, A Long Ago Place, children are given a glimpse of parenting. However, Donna has dedicated this narrative from Julie Westmass to all mothers worldwide to help them remember what it was like to be a child.
She sinks into a trance as she sits under the tree, the sun pounding down on her and leaving its imprint on her. She lives in a world where she can achieve her every desire. She raised Porky, Serena, Jemoo, Lindy Lol, Semolina, Wendy, Suzanna, Pinky, and Teddy (the one-eyed Teddy) as the ladies she saw herself to be. She is a secretary at her job. They get kisses from her when she returns for their excellent behavior. She instantly organizes her space before starting to prepare dinner for her children. She then brings the audience back to the present. She has finally achieved her lifelong desire to become a mother.
I have to congratulate the writer and narrator on this excellent work. I loved it since it offered me a lot to think about. As the narrator indicated, certain situations cause us to reflect on our history, and when we apply that to the present, we claim we could have predicted it. Any youngster reading this book will find the activities at the conclusion engaging. Little girls will get an insight into parenthood from the book as well. Similar to them, our moms had these dreams, which came true.
I don't see anything wrong with this novel as an adult. However, there were other aspects I didn't particularly appreciate since it was written primarily for children. The book's organizational framework comes first. The novel was figuratively written. It seemed frightening despite the low quality of the illustration. Many children won't even glance at this book, much less read it. It could have been more apparent that the book was intended for youngsters. My skepticism was dispelled, however, when I read the author's suggestion of activities for kids at the conclusion.
I want to give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. If I hadn't thought that some youngsters would also like metaphors and terrifying images, I would have taken away a star. There were no problems with the editing; everything was perfect. The editing of the book was superb. I want to suggest it to young readers who like poetry.
