Inca's mom had been given a chance to sit as a judge in a cooking competition between North Korea and South Korea. She was going to use that chance to unveil her new cheese. Fromage, Inca's brother, cared about the honor that had been bestowed on his mom. He also cared about the cheese. Why won't he? He contributed to the production of that beauty. That was why he chose to stand guard over it and keep his eyes open for Enzo. He did not trust that man one bit. Inca, on the other hand, had to think of a way to help a new friend she met when she and her family went to South Korea because of the event their mom had to attend. That was supposed to be a vacation for her, but she did not mind going out of her way to help this new friend. What help exactly was she willing to give that made her rack her brain so much? What about Enzo? Why did Fromage distrust him so much?

R.F. Kristi has been a favorite of mine for a while. Her books are always written so well, and I have always had a good time reading them. Despite the fact that her books are mostly for children, I have never felt uncomfortable reading them. That is because they always teach me so much about the places her protagonists go to. Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula is no different. It taught me things I did not know about the two Korean nations and the bitter past they both shared.

Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula was also entertaining. It did not teach me about the Korean Peninsula and its historical terrain alone. It was also mildly funny. The characters' reactions to certain events made me laugh, which I liked very much. You need to read about Fromage's encounter with Enzo to understand why this book made me laugh. Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula also outline the importance of having empathy. This is what I liked most about Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula. The characters knew when others were suffering, and they did not hesitate to comfort them in whatever way. We need more empathetic people in the world, and this book may help put things in perspective for many people.

There were minor errors in the book. There were not many at all. I will not be wrong to say that Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula was professionally edited because of that fact. So what will I change about this book? Absolutely nothing. I did not see any negative aspects to dislike in the book, and I applaud R.F. Kristi's effort. It surely did not go to waste.

Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula deserves a rating of 5 out of 5 stars because of how good I found it. There was nothing I disliked, and that is the major reason for this perfect rating. I cannot wait to read its sequel.

Do you like books that cast pets in a light that will make your heart smile? Do you like books where the characters explore new places and afford you the chance to learn something new about that place? If yes, I recommend Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula to you. For the record, Inca and Fromage are cats, and they are the absolute best.
