In the novel Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula by R.F. Kristi, readers follow the adventures of Inca, Missy's favorite Siberian cat companion, who is traveling on another adventure with her sister and brother, this time to the Korean Peninsula. Missy has been chosen as a judge for the Le Cordon Bleu French Patisserie competition, which will take place in the area between North and South Korea that serves as a buffer. This competition aims to promote friendly relations on the peninsula.

The first obstacle to overcome is the theft of Missy's special cheese, which is being introduced for the first time at Le Cordon Bleu, as they exit the plane in Seoul. The second, pressing concern is that Missy's tour guide, whose residence they are staying in, has been separated from his sister ever since she traveled to North Korea to see family and hasn't been able to come back. Ye-Jun, Ji's brother, sincerely misses her and their pet cat, Bo-Ming. Missy and Ye-Jun are hoping to arrange a meeting with Ji since she'll be participating in the tournament.

I found it delightful to observe how the cats and dogs connected with one another throughout the trip as well as with their owners. All of the cats and dogs in the novel are delightful. The Korean Peninsula's history is succinctly explained, and it is interesting. The descriptions of the animals and plants, notably the numerous cherry trees that were in bloom, were fascinating. Very attractive and consistent with the tale, the visuals are excellent.

It was a fascinating and interesting book because the author expertly balanced the human characters and the cute animal detectives. The book provides clear and understandable information about the Korean Demilitarized Zone and the separation of North and South Korea for young readers. The book also had lovely illustrations to further enhance the narrative. The book was well edited. There was nothing about the book that turned me off. I gave this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars as a result of these factors.

Children that enjoy animals and adventures should definitely read this book, in my opinion. You won't want to put this enjoyable and instructive book down.
