Donny and Mary Grace's California Adventures by Catherine Anna Pepe is a children's book about two children who show unconditional love for each other. The story starts with Donny Miller and his family, who had gone to County Zoo in Wichita, Kansas. He liked to watch penguins and walk like them. Mary Grace wanted to hear the story of Grandma's gang. Their parents were to go on a mission in Africa, leaving Mary Grace and Donny to live with their grandparents. They found them waiting for them at the airport. Their grandma told them the story of the grandma gang. Read the book and find out about the mystery the grandmothers solved.

I liked the comedy in the novel. Mrs. Miller tells her daughter, Mary Grace, she should find better clothes for church, and she says her jeans with holes are better for the church since they are "holey." The comedy makes the reader enjoy the book. The book teaches children how to live with other children with disabilities. Donny had Down syndrome, but Mary Grace loved him and was angry when other children bullied him. Some children even love disabled children. With this book, they gain the right morals and how to behave when around them. Reading the book was easy since each scene was great. The author used simple language to engage children.

I have nothing to dislike in this book. The author dedicates it to his brother, who had Down syndrome, to teach children something about disabled people.

I rate Donny and Mary Grace's California Adventures by Catherine Anna Pepe five out of five stars. It was explicitly edited because it had no grammatical errors or typos. The book engages children through the comedy the characters make. Children like funny things, and they will find the book enjoyable. It also teaches them morals. With all that, I think the book deserves a perfect rating.

I recommend Donny and Mary Grace's California Adventures to children aged seven to thirteen years. It will help them develop better morals: and within that age, children understand right and wrong. It will help them choose to be good and how to behave around others.
