Review of Snatched Up to Heaven for Kids
Emma and Bella live with their parents and their baby sister. They have everything little girls could dream of and are quite happy. Their parents want them to grow up with the love and knowledge of their Christian faith and values. Therefore, they read the Bible to them every night and tell them lots of stories from the Bible. They tell them about God, Jesus, heaven and hell.
One night, Emma has a dream. Excitedly, she shares this dream with her family. Because she likes this dream so much, she prays for a similar dream. Emma has a dream like that repeatedly until one night when she has a scary sort of dream. After talking with her parents about it, Emma realises what she must do.
Snatched Up to Heaven for Kids is an interesting book for kids by Jemima Paul and Arvind Paul.
I enjoyed reading this book for so many reasons. The colourful pictures were fun to look at. Although, I confess to spending a lot of time wondering why the angels looked so puny.
I liked that there was not a single grammatical or typographical error in the book, which is extremely important in a book meant for kids. Also, I liked how we learn other important lessons in the book. For instance, parents should listen to their children and take them seriously even when it comes to dreams. Also, we must knock before entering a place. These are lessons that apply to everyone.
I did find some things that gave me pause. It was mentioned repeatedly in the book that committing sins is bad. It would have been better if some actions that are seen as sinful according to the authors or the Bible were mentioned explicitly in the story.
Snatched Up to Heaven for Kids is a book that is appropriate for kids in every way except one. In my opinion, the detailed descriptions of hellfire will be traumatising to some kids. I recommend that individual adults read that part first before deciding whether or not they want to read it to their kids.
This book will appeal mostly to those of the Christian faith, which potentially limits the audience. However, this is the authors' choice and does not affect my rating.
I rate this book five out of five stars. I might remove a half star because of the aforementioned reasons. However, I do not find them grievous enough to remove a full star. I really enjoyed reading this book, and I hope the authors write a sequel.

Absolutely, Kavita. I agree completely. Thanks for stopping by.Kavita Shah wrote: ↑22 May 2023, 06:50 Thank you for insightful review zainherb! I really think that's a good advice, read about heaven and then decide if the children are ready to learn or read about hell. But altogether it sounds like a great book for Christian parents to teach their kids about their faith.
