Donny and Mary Grace's California Adventures is a children's book by Catherine A. Pepe. It started with Donny, a Down Syndrome boy who was lost in Kansas Zoo, and his family was panicked by his loss. Mary Grace, Donny's sister, found Donny in the penguin section. Even though Donny was lost at the zoo, Donny's family had a good time there. One day, Mary Grace and Donny's parents told them that Mary Grace and Donny had to move to their grandparents' house in California because of a world mission that their parents had. Donny was happy with the news, but Mary Grace was not. Can Mary Grace enjoy her time in California? What adventures did Mary Grace and Donny experience?

After reading this book, I found a lot of positive aspects to it. I loved how everyone helped Mary Grace and her family to find Donny at the zoo. Even though they were strangers, they were willingly helping to search for Donny. Besides that, I love how optimistic Donny was. The way he saw the world around him was beautiful. His positivity was also contagious, as I could feel it through this book. Donny was an inspiring person. Furthermore, I also admired Mary Grace for her bravery and courage. She did not want to make her parents in Africa worried about her and decided to solve her own problems. In addition, the author did a great job writing this book, as I did not find any grammatical errors or typos in it.

I did not find any negative aspects in the book. Overall, the book was well-edited and worth reading it.

Thus, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. The story plot was great, and the book also taught me that all human life is unique and offers special benefits to others.

I recommend this book to everyone as this book can help to change attitudes and remove the stigma surrounding people with disabilities.
