Inca, the head of the esteemed detective agency Inca and Company, leads her team on an extraordinary adventure in Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula by R.F. Kristi. The story begins as Inca and her family, including her sister Cara, Monk the Russian cat, Terrance the brave dog, Charlotte, the intelligent hamster, and Fromage, the lively character, embark on a thrilling journey to South Korea.

Their purpose? To participate in the highly anticipated French Pâtisserie competition, where Inca's mother, Missy, is set to showcase her cheese recipe. However, as they prepare for the competition, Inca's rival, Enzo, attempts to sabotage their chances by stealing their precious cheese. Determined to succeed, Inca and her team must outsmart Enzo and protect their recipe. But that's not all. The plot thickens as they discover a friendly cooking competition at the demilitarized zone, the border fence that divides the Korean Peninsula. This competition is aimed at promoting peace between North and South Korea. However, fate takes an unexpected turn when something extraordinary occurs, prompting the courageous team to defy the rules and venture across the forbidden demilitarized zone.

In this novel, I am drawn to the positive values depicted throughout the story. I appreciate how the book emphasizes bravery, friendship, love, and the importance of helping others. The actions of Inca and her team inspire me to be kind, empathetic, and courageous in my own life. The colorful illustrations by Jorge Valle are a visual delight, bringing the characters and settings to life.

I love how the vibrant backdrop of the Korean Peninsula adds an adventurous tone to the narrative, transporting me to captivating locales. Exploring the rich traditions, history, and landmarks of South Korea through Inca's eyes fosters an appreciation for different cultures. Lastly, the accessible language used in the book allows me to easily follow the story, boosting my love for reading and empowering me to navigate more complex texts.

This captivating and dynamic novel is outstanding in all aspects, leaving nothing for me to dislike. The novel's engaging storytelling, colorful illustrations, and rich cultural backdrop create a remarkable reading experience. I am pleased to give this novel a rating of 5 out of 5 stars based on its outstanding features in all areas. Additionally, I appreciate the exceptional editing, as the novel contains no grammatical errors. There is nothing about this novel that I dislike. I recommend this novel to children seeking an adventurous and heartwarming journey filled with brave feline detectives, valuable life lessons, and a touch of international intrigue.
