Review of Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula
Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula: Diary of a Snoopy Cat is an exciting children's book and the eighth installment in the Inca Cat Detectives series by R.F. Kristi. Inca and her furry family travel to South Korea on an exciting voyage with their human mother, who serves as a judge at a prominent pastry competition. They run into their mother's rival on the plane, trying to steal her cheese, which sets the stage for a sequence of surreal incidents. When they get there, they meet the amiable tour guide Ye-Jun and become friends with his dog, Baram. The animals are desperate to reunite Bo-Mi, a kitten who is now living in North Korea, with Ye-Jun's sister. To complete their task and reunite the family, the brave feline detectives must confront perilous circumstances, which may include crossing international boundaries. In this enthralling story, travel with Inca and her pals on an exciting and thrilling journey through the Korean Peninsula.
I truly enjoyed reading this book since the setting on the Korean Peninsula presented the plot with such an interesting and unique backdrop. I got the opportunity to learn about a new culture and region, which made reading much more engaging and educational. The plot developed and became more interesting as a result of the investigation of a novel setting, giving me the impression that I was traveling around the Korean Peninsula with the protagonists. It's always intriguing to read about new places, and this book definitely delivered on that aspect.
I didn't really connect with this book as much because I prefer stories that are more human-centered than animal-centered. Personally, I have a harder time getting sucked into an animal-focused book. I like stories that focus on human emotions and experiences because it makes it easier for me to connect with the characters and their lives. I do understand that this is a question of taste, and readers who appreciate novels with an animal theme may still enjoy this book.
I will rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. The reason for this rating is that the author illustrated this book with amazing and beautiful pictures that made it more engaging. I couldn't deduct a star because the dislike I noticed was more of a minor one. I will recommend this book to children aged below 8. This book was exceptionally edited.
