Doctoroo & the Case of the Red-Hot Hawaiians, written by Dr. Rachel Wellner and illustrated by Irina Dringova, is a fun mystery-solving book.

Dr. Marsha Roo is sent a message asking her to go to Hawaii to check on three hula-dancing pigs. The dancers are extremely hot, they are getting very red, and they are getting very itchy. Doctoroo must find out what is causing this mystery illness before the Big Dance Festival next week. She works with her team, Kirby Koala, Terence Toad, and Louie Llama, to help the dancers. Together, they check for allergic reactions, poisonous volcanic gases, insect bites, and more to find the cause and a cure for this mysterious illness.

Dr. Rachel Wellner has done a very good job writing this book. It is fun and light-hearted but also very informative. I loved the illustrations in this book, they are vibrant and colourful. They also include a range of equipment that Doctoroo and her team use while solving the mystery. Doctoroo teaches the reader the risks of eating things you find in the wild, some of the dangers involving volcanoes, and also has a catchy song for applying sunscreen.

I only have one very minor issue with this book: in the beginning, the characters are tossing around a rugby ball, but in the illustration, an American football is pictured, not a rugby ball.

I give Doctoroo & the Case of the Red-Hot Hawaiians, by Dr. Rachel Wellner, five out of five stars. I found no spelling, punctuation, or grammatical errors in the whole book; it appears to be exceptionally well-edited. I only found one minor issue with the book.

I recommend this book for children aged 5 to 9. It contains valuable life lessons for young children to learn, but younger children might struggle with some of the bigger words.
