Review of Donny and Mary Grace's California Adventures
[Following is a volunteer review of "Donny and Mary Grace's California Adventures" by Catherine A. Pepe.]
Donny and Mary Grace's California Adventure is a fictional children's novel by Catherine Anna Pepe. It is the story of the Mary Grace and Donny. Donny was born with Down Syndrome. Donny a five year old boy had a loving family around him, who always take care him. Mary Grace was a ten year old girl, who was a good sister. Mary Grace was always good at figuring things out, like she finds her brother in park, she also find bullying one by shoe box technique. Donny was very innocent, have you ever imagined how funny and happy life would be if you saw everything from a positive point of view like Donny?. Donny was very generous when it came to his big sister. In Wichita Donny and Mary Grace living with their parents, School was in full swing, and Mary Grace was enjoying life to the fullest. It was shocking when Donny's parents announced to their children that they would be going to Africa on a mission by Church. This news is very sad for Mary Grace and she was quite upset about it. On the other hand, Donny seemed very excited, because he wants to visit his grandparents, Grandma Cathy and Papa Steve in California. It is the story that explains family, siblings, love, affection,careness, adventure and mystery. This story has a lot of positive points. First and the most important thing is that book educate readers about children with special needs. This story give us a lesson of character building, kindness, positively, forgiveness, social services, good in figuring things out, prevent from bullying, prevent from black mailing. The author represented children's jealousy and bullying in a very good way. Children sometime become jealous if their friends trying to be friends with another person. Sometimes bullies are just children who lack self confidence, so be kind to children's.It is appreciated how the school administration handle the issues of bullying and threats, and how they treat Justin and Tiffany.I liked how the author explained how children and adults react differently in same situations. In this book the author tells us how to improve the situation and how to find root of the problem. I did not find anything to dislike, the book has no errors or typos. I did not find any inconsistency in this book, therefore I give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend this book to teenagers and adults they will definitely find it very interesting. I also recommend this book to teachers to read this book in class in front of children because this is very interesting book for children. I also recommend this book to parents because this is very useful book for parents, this book tells parents how to treat children.
