This is a book that helps to build the moral consciousness of every child and reader. I am so glad that the authors advocated through this book that most social issues should be corrected at the very formative age of a child's growth. The issue and effects of stigmatization, bullying, theft, and more should be discouraged, no matter the age of the individual involved. This book also evinces the struggles of disabled people in an average society. Donny and Mary Grace's California Adventures by Catherine A. Pepe is a book that showcases the strength of parents who have children that require special needs, care, and attention.

Donny and Mary Grace's California Adventures by Catherine A. Pepe is an interesting and well-written 153-page children's book. Mary Grace could sense something was wrong as she walked into the house after swimming. The bishop has assigned Mr. and Mrs. Miller to be missionaries in the Episcopal Church in Africa. Donny and Mary Grace would have to live with their grandparents in California for the next two years. Would this be a sad time for them, or would it turn out to be an adventure? Read on to find out.

I so much loved how the author avoided the use of ambiguous sentences to help kids grasp the entire concept of this book. The narrative and writing style made the author's message clear and highly comprehensible. Reading this book will help kids build their instincts to handle some situations in their environment. The editors of this book did a good job. This book was well edited. I could not find any errors in this book.

I have been close to lots of kids, and I must say that for a book this long, having no pictures would easily turn any child off. Kids would appreciate this book more if it were a bit more colorful and contained pictures, especially of the animals found in the zoo, as contained in this book. This would really help to get kids focused while reading.

However, as an adult, the issues I mentioned above had no impact on my understanding of this book. This book was amazing, and I will rate it five out of five stars. I recommend this book to all lovers of children's books and those who teach kids.
