R.F. Kristi's children's book Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula combines humor and intrigue. Both a baking competition and a detective team's South Korean journey are featured. The book also provides illustrations for numerous subjects, like the lives of pets, friendship, leadership, and teamwork.

Inca, a Siberian cat who serves as the head of the detective agency that includes the cats Cara, Fromage, and Monk, the hamster Charlotte, and the dogs Terrance and Polo, is the main subject of the narrative, to put it briefly. Their owner, Missy, is chosen to serve as one of the judges for a pastry contest in South Korea. The detective team then embarks on a new expedition on the Korean Peninsula, which serves as a border region between North Korea and South Korea.

This book was fantastic in every way. All of the furry creatures in this book have personalities thanks to Kristi, who has done an incredible job with it. The book's premise intrigues me greatly. Korea's Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) is where most of the action takes place. For older children, reading it would be educational. The author has treated the subject of the political tension between North and South Korea with the tact and sensibility it merits.

The book has colorful and entertaining graphics. The narration moves at just the right speed. Numerous humorous episodes coexist with a few eerie ones. Finding the ideal age range for this book is a little difficult. The information appears appropriate for older children, particularly the DMZ section. The novel is more suited for children between the ages of six and ten due to its overall tone and vocabulary, nevertheless.

The plot of the novel was well-developed, and the book is full of humor, which keeps me entertained; thus, I gave it a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. I found no mistakes in the meticulously prepared book. There wasn't much in this book that I could criticize, dislike, or complain about.

I recommend that young readers read this book. Parents may read this book to their children since it is concise, easy to understand, and loaded with inventive artwork. There is no age restriction for readers, and anyone would like this distinctive detective novel because it is exciting and has an intriguing plot.
