i]Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula[/i] tells its readers about Inca’s adventures in South Korea and North Korea. Inca had gone to South Korea with her family because her mom had been called to be a judge. She was to be one of the judges at a cooking competition between South Korea and North Korea. Inca saw this as her chance to enjoy what South Korea had to offer, but that was not all the universe had in store. You see, Inca is a detective and is good at what she does. She had an advantage over most of her human detective contemporaries because she was a cat. Inca met someone in South Korea whose friend needed saving. Baram, a dog, had been separated from Bo-Mi for too long. The latter was stuck in North Korea, and Inca took it upon herself to rescue her. Will she be successful?

In Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula, R.F. Kristi highlighted the realities of people who were there when the conflict between North Korea and South Korea started. She wrote about how the people coped and what they did when separated from their loved ones. South Korea is known for its great dramas and K-pop, but only a few know about its bitter history. I had no idea how much suffering existed in both North and South Korea. Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula opened my eyes to the truth.

R.F. Kristi did not surprise me with this book at all. She is a wonderful author. She has written many other books that I have read and loved. Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula is no different. She told the story in this book beautifully. I was even scared at some point for Inca and her friends when they decided to venture into North Korea. That scene scared me. I liked that section of the narrative the most. So much happened so quickly, and that got my heart racing. I hope you understand that I cannot go into details about what happened because I will spoil the book for you. It was filled with so much suspense, and I found myself praying for the brave characters that chose to enter North Korea.

I disliked nothing about Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula. It has no negative aspects. It might not have been edited flawlessly, but it was still professionally edited. I say this because I did not see more than three errors in the whole book. Its pictures are beautiful and well-detailed. Its story is also very interesting. If I had the chance to rewrite this book, there is nothing I would change. R.F. Kristi did a wonderful job with it. Thus, I award Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. I honestly have no reason to give it a lower rating.

I recommend Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula to young readers from four to ten. I recommend that their parents or guardians purchase this book for them because it will teach them so much. It will teach them empathy, kindness, consideration, and bravery. I also recommend it to older readers who are clueless about the conflict between North Korea and South Korea. After looking at this book, I know you might decide it is meant for kids alone, but that is not true. It taught me about the conflict between those two nations, and I appreciate that.
