The Book of Moncoto by Mosetta Penick Phillips-Cermak is a work of fiction and fantasy about a young girl named Dawn. She was sailing with her grandmother when they were involved in an accident and ended up in a magical world. Dawn's attempt to bargain with the Silver Fish, which had magic, leads to her making decisions that have additional implications. Dawn resolves to go to Summit, where she expects to find solutions to the problems she has caused. Her voyage to Summit is the focus of the novel, and it is fraught with difficulties. Did she come up with a solution? Was she reunited with her grandmother? Did she return to her previous residence? Read this narrative to find out.

This narrative appealed to me for a variety of reasons. To begin, the author utilized simple language that is easier to grasp. Aside from the characters' unusual names, I found no new terminology. I was particularly delighted with the character development; I enjoyed how Dawn was kind and remorseful for her faults. She took responsibility for the consequences of her conduct. Her logic was sound; it makes sense that magic would be matched by technological advances. The images in the book were clear and of high quality. I also loved how the book flowed since there was a fluid transition from one chapter to the next. I liked Dawn, Mega, and La-primera's friendship and how they supported each other.

The use of photos was a good idea, but given that this is a children's book, she would have included more photographs to depict the caverns and the lion's den, among other things.

I saw no grammatical errors, indicating that the editing was incredibly well-done. There was just one area that I believe the author might have improved. As a result, I rate this work 5 out of 5 stars.

Children enjoy things that involve animation and fantasy, which was the case with this piece. As a result, I recommend that children read this book. Because it is a fantasy adventure novel, fantasy lovers will appreciate it and are encouraged to read it.
